We are also involved on all aspects in legislative drafting and conveyance. We work closely with various Nigerian legislative agencies in ensuring that bills are presented in a way that prevents the most common problems such as ambiguity. We also contribute to the Nigerian Bar Association on the continuous improvement of the practice of law in the country.
We are involved in matters in the area of Constitutional Law. We have on several occasions, led a team of law firms in the defence of the Federal and State Governments in many constitutional law matters including the VAT Case between the Attorney-General of Lagos State and the Attorney-General of the Federation & Others. Presently, we are leading over 50 Law Firms involved in the defence of the Federal Government in the litany of cases filed at the Supreme Court by the Attorneys-General of the respective States against the Attorney-General of the Federation over claims arising out of or in relation to the provisions of Section 162 of the 1999 Constitution (as Amended). These claims are generally referred to as the Excess Crude Cases and there are over 30 of those cases currently pending at the Supreme Court.
